ENGLISH LANGUAGE CHALLENGES

Imagen
Hi everyone! My experience learning English at university has been quite good. I highlight the kindness of the teachers and de teaching method they use because is much more didactic and effective than the one I learn of school. The atmosphere of respect that is generated between colleagues is also very pleasant because no one makes fun of the pronunciation or knowledge of the other.  Also, blogs is too helpful. Writing in English about the interests of each one is very entertaining and, in the future, when they ask us something associated with the topics studied, we will know how to answer in a very good way.  I need to improve many aspects of English, such as pronunciation and vocabulary management. To improve the first look, I plan to lessen my embarrassment and nerves, which I am already working on. Also, I plan to expand the vocabulary trough listening to music and watch series in the language. I'm aware that it is a knowledge that we must all have today, even more s...

CHANGES IN MY STUDY PROGRAM

I am in third year of journalism and at the moment I have really liked the way of teaching at the university a lot because it has helped to reinforce my social conscience and to look at everything from that perspective. However, in terms of the curriculum, there should be more subjects related to technology, specifically, to communicate strategically from the various platforms, because today they are the ones with the greatest reach among citizens. I think the workload is right, so far, I haven’t had any problems beyond the usual concerns which are related to work under pressure. But the teaching methods have been a more complex issue due to the differences in the content that we have in the sections according to the teacher who gives us classes. For this reason, sometimes there tends to be differences in theoretical knowledge between classmates, which generates an academic imbalance in some aspects.    In my opinion, the duration of the career is ...

TIME TRAVEL TO THE FUTURE

Imagen
I would like to go to Qatar next year because the 2022 World Cup will be played there. I love football and going to planetary event to see it would be fantastic and exciting. My dream would be to stay there for the entire event, it last for about a month, between November and December. One of my plans would also be to know more about the culture of the country that organize the event, for example, try the typical foods and visit the historical places. I would love to travel and take advantage of every second in the Asian country.   But with one condition I would only like to go to Qatar if Chile qualifies for the World Cup. Seeing your country compete and cheering then in the stadium, singing an anthem and getting frustrated is not comparable.    I would love to stay and see the final,  even if not even my country is present in it. I would remember my whole life seeing the winner and being there, it would be amazing. I am hopeful that Chile will qualify f...

What kind of job would you like to have?

Imagen
I would like to have a job in the media, preferably on a website or on a radio station. I imagine it could be very dynamic and entertaining, but at the same time very challenging because it deserves to learn and study constantly. Furthermore, the media have a very high demand. Shifts and work pace are tough. The ideal would be to work in the field, reporting and having contact with others. In this way, I would like to travel outside of Santiago. I’m currently doing sports journalism elective because I love the social and sports role of soccer. I love watching it on television, reading about the sport and going to the stadium to see every possible game and not just my favorite club. My dream is to be a journalist on the field and visit the different stadiums of the different teams in the country. Soccer is my biggest and only passion. It’s always good to have a second option and mine is judicial journalism, I studied in the previous semester, and I found it very...

MY FAVORITES PHOTOGRAPHS

Imagen
My favorite photographs reflect memories that will last forever. This time I will publish two that give me absolute peace and happiness. These photographs were captured by me in February of this year on my vacations in the Dominican Republic. I captured the first one at the hotel and I like it a lot because nothing compares to having breakfast just steps from the beach and those crystal-clear waters of the Caribbean Sea. With the exquisite food from the buffet, much better! Beautiful scenery plus tasty food, the perfect complement. The second photograph was captured on paradise Saona Island. That day I had an incredible time, I didn’t quite remember what that place was like when I went before, but I enjoyed much more than the time my visited de first time. I still remember that I never thonk that I would go back there. To be there is to forget reality and feel satisfaction, I love this place. Looking at both photographs relaxes me and makes me feel peace, joy and tranquility. The best?...

My favorite soccer league? The Chilean

Imagen
If someone ask me what I am doing, I answer that I am watching Chilean football. I don’t care about the category, the important thing for me is to enjoy it. For me to watch an Iberia de Los Angeles v/s Independiente de Cauquenes is a great and excellent panorama. I love going to the stadium, my favorite is the San Carlos de Apoquindo, it’s where I forget of everything and just focus on cheering on my team. Lately I have  n’t been able to go but just watching the matches on television males me also happy. It is not unusual to arrive at my house and that the soccer channel is tuned in, if it were up to me, I would watch all the matches on the date. This year I found a new interest: Chilean women’s football. I love it and I am learning more and more from it, from the hard-working women’s and from the struggle they face every in the hyper-masculinized context in which they are. Every day I’m more outraged by the reality that women's football live in this country. This yea...

WHY DID I CHOOSE JOURNALISM?

Imagen
As a child I never thought "What I wanted to be when I grow up", I only knew I loved playing as a supermarket cashier. Over the years, I began to think about where I wanted to study and always Universidad de Chile came to my mind    At the time of applying, I had no other option than journalism and I decided on that career because my dream when i was a school student was to be a journalist sports and go to football stadiums to work for a recognized radio station.  I love football. Today my dream is the same one and also to work from an institutional part of a football club, to mix a passion with work.   My first year of university was entertaining, I went to campus JGM, had lunch with my classmates and studied in groups with them. I miss that. The second and third years of the university life have been somewhat tedious and stressful because of the Covid-19, we all know that the online mode is not easy, but I hope that the pandemic will pass soon.
